Link Asset Management Limited (Link), the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Link REIT; Hong Kong stock code: 823), is pleased to announce today (Monday) the latest funding commitments under its flagship charity and community engagement programme, Link Together Initiatives.

Launched in 2013, the programme has reached a significant milestone and committed over $174 million to support more than 200 projects, benefiting 120 NGOs and reaching over 20 million people.

Duncan Owen, Chair of Link, said, “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are proud of our ongoing commitment to enhance the communities around our assets and promote sustainability. The latest round of sponsored projects under Link Together Initiatives reflects our dedication to this mission, fostering a sense of community belonging and linking people to a brighter future. Looking forward, we will continue to leverage our significant footprint and community reach to build and promote a more inclusive and sustainable society.”

In financial year 2025/2026, Link will continue this legacy by supporting multiple community projects with its NGO partners launching in October. These projects focus on three key themes – Environmental Sustainability, Inclusion and Active Ageing, and Youth Empowerment – and are designed to help community members live more sustainable and healthy lives while fostering deeper connections within their communities. Details of the projects under each theme are provided below:

Environmental Sustainability: Initiatives under this theme leverage Link’s property portfolio as a platform for education and action, creating tangible social impact by promoting green practices and awareness within local communities.

  1. Food Angel - We Link We Share Programme by Bo Charity Foundation is an educational initiative dedicated to reducing food waste. It collects surplus yet edible food from Link's fresh markets and shopping malls. The programme aims to train university students to become ambassadors for sustainability and community care.
  2. Nature LINK 2026 is a project initiated by the Environmental Association that has established ten butterfly gardens at Link’s shopping malls. This initiative aims to create an ecological network to enhance biodiversity. This year, the project will utilise each garden as a platform for promoting community sustainability. Trained volunteers will lead workshops and eco-tours to promote conservation efforts.

Inclusion and Active Ageing: Link’s approach to Inclusion and Active Ageing is centred on a ‘seniors for seniors’ model, which empowers elderly beneficiaries by unlocking their potential to contribute meaningfully and foster elderly support within their communities.

  1. Listen & Connect: Hearing Health Programme for Elderly is an innovative project by SLCO Community Resources that aims to increase early recognition of hearing loss and train seniors to be screening and educational ambassadors. It addresses the often-overlooked aspect of hearing health in elderly care by collaborating with health care professionals to support seniors through screenings, counselling, sign language workshops and informational talks.
  2. Deep-rooted Multi Performing Arts Programme for Golden Agers, organised by Arts’ Options, will continue to offer a series of professional drama training sessions and train-the-trainers sessions. These sessions are designed to teach professional dramatic performance skills to elderly participants, nurturing them into becoming accomplished performers and trainers.

Youth Empowerment: Link’s Youth Empowerment programmes focus on supporting a diverse range of young people, providing them with opportunities, skills and resources to overcome barriers and thrive.

  1. Empower ME: Journey to Resilience by The Zubin Mahtani Gidumal Foundation is aimed at non-Chinese youth in Hong Kong. It engages them through creative workshops, personalised life coaching and community exploration.
  2. Sports LinkVenture 2.0 by InspiringHK Sports Foundation will continue to offer diverse sports experiences for underprivileged youths this year through training courses in water, urban and mountain sports to help build confidence, teamwork and resilience.
  3. Link and Explore – Community and Career Exploration 2.0 by Teach For Hong Kong Foundation empowers underprivileged secondary school students to explore career pathways and community connections through gamified learning and a student-for-student approach.

At the same time, Link will continue to promote social mobility and self-enrichment among young people through the Link University Scholarship and other internship and community services programmes. Since 2015, over 2,000 outstanding university students who are the first generation in their family to attend higher education have received scholarships on the basis of their academic excellence and community engagement. This year, Link also launched the “Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Students Scholarship”, which awarded 100 scholarships to local secondary school students.

Details of the sponsored projects are listed in the Appendix.
