Responsible Investment

As a global leading real estate investor and manager, we incorporate sustainability, including ESG factors, into our property investment and management decisions to contribute to shaping a sustainable built environment.

We recognise our fiduciary duty to uphold the principles of responsible investment throughout the real estate asset life cycle. We adopt the six Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI) to better align our investment activities with the broader interests of society.

Principle 1: We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
Principle 2: We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
Principle 3: We will seek appropriate disclosures on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
Principle 4: We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
Principle 5: We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
Principle 6: We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.

We incorporate responsible investment practices throughout the entire real estate asset life cycle and have integrated these into our investment management process, which includes asset acquisition, development, operation, enhancement, and disposal, in accordance with our Responsible Investment Policy.

Asset Acquisition

Sustainability factors are considered at various stages, from initial asset identification, due diligence to post transaction.

Asset Enhancement and Development

Our new developments incorporate the highest feasible sustainability standards, while our major enhancement projects, at a minimum, ensure assets meet current best practices.

Operation

We operate owned assets in accordance with our sustainability-related policies. We prioritise business partners who have a track record and expertise of sustainability practices.

Asset Divestment

We facilitate smooth handovers with buyers on technical and sustainability-related items, alongside financial and legal aspects.
