The Link has invited Mr Chris Lau, Hong Kong’s first full-time pop-up book artist, to present “Hong Kong’s First Pop-up Book on 360° Giant Scenes of Japanese Streets” for the first time at Lok Fu Plaza. The book features food streets and Sakura parks of Japan by showing landmark street views of Tokyo, Osaka and Hokkaido as 3D pop-up models, which makes one feel as if on the streets of Japan. This will be a great photo taking opportunity! In addition, on Saturdays and Sundays, Japanese specialties will be available at 3D Pop-up Stores, where customers can enjoy a variety of delicious Japanese food.

“Noge Street Performance” – Japan’s Top Street Culture
As street performance is a key feature of Japanese culture, The Link has invited various street performers to showcase their acts at Lok Fu Plaza on Saturdays during the celebration period. The performances include a comedy show by Japan’s top performing group, Gabez, who have conducted public tour performances in Taiwan, Korea and Singapore, and are appearing for the first time in Hong Kong. In addition, there will be a magic art show by “to R mansion” and performances by local musical act “No Drums Needed” and local theatre act “All Theatre Parade”. All of these performances will immerse visitors in Japanese street atmosphere at Lok Fu Plaza.

Ms Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said, “Japanese culture is very popular in Hong Kong. To celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Lok Fu Plaza, The Link is bringing Japan’s landmark street views and large-scale street carnivals to Hong Kong in a creative and dynamic way. We hope that people will come to Lok Fu Plaza to enjoy the atmosphere of Japanese street art as well as exciting new shopping experiences. What’s more, to introduce local street culture, we have invited various local performance groups, including Hong Kong Sign Language Musical Theatre and Hong Kong Funny Clown Theatre. Through mixing Japanese with local art and cultures, we aim to enrich the celebration and bring art to the community.”
