Link Collab Fest

The Collab Fest aims to promote creativity and collaboration between charitable organisations, social enterprises and social innovators in Hong Kong to develop innovative youth empowerment programmes. This meaningful event is organised by Link and fully supported by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.

All charitable organisations, social enterprises, or social innovators with experience in promoting community development and services are welcome to form teams and participate in the event. The teams will work together to develop a project idea that is tailored for youth empowerment. The winning team will receive HK$100,000 to motivate them to bring the idea to life. In addition, participating organisations will have the invaluable opportunity to network and collaborate with one another, fostering a supportive and vibrant community to create a greater social impact.

Networking Day

Join us for an opportunity to meet and connect with like-minded charitable organisations, social enterprises and social innovators. This event offers a chance to collaborate, exchange knowledge and experiences, and discover potential partners for co-creating innovative ideas that can drive positive change.

Networking Day is only open to organisations who have successfully registered. Confirmation notification has been sent via email.

Note: To be eligible for submitting a proposal in the next stage, at least one organisation of each applying team must participate in the networking session.

Proposal Submission

Your submission should be initiatives for youth empowerment. The deadline for submission is 9 October 2023.

Pitching Day

Shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to introduce their concepts in person to a judging panel on the Pitching Day. Members of the public, including youth, are invited to attend and provide feedback on the proposals. The winning team will receive a prize of HK$100,000.

Judging Criteria

Uniqueness

The proposed project can:

clearly identify an existing service gap that deserves attention; and
curate a creative solution that could help fill the service gap identified

Collaboration

The proposed project design can:

leverage on each partner’s strengths to achieve the project goal(s); and
generate synergy and create greater social impact that exceeds what each partner could achieve alone

Community Engagement

Throughout the implementation, it is expected the proposed project will:

raise public awareness in the identified social issue; and
engage community stakeholders

Practicality

The project team should:

provide a proposal supported by relevant data and context that substantiates the proposed solution;
provide a feasible implementation plan including proposed allocation of resources (e.g. funding, manpower and required system and infrastructure) and implementation timeline;
outline KPIs or other outcome; and
illustrate the organisations’ relevant experience

Eligibility

Link Collab Fest is open to any charitable organisations, social enterprises and social innovators, with experience in promoting community development and related services.
Applying organisations must be registered in Hong Kong.
Each applying team must consist of a minimum of two organisations as defined in point 1.
At least one of the organisations of each applying team must attend one session of Networking Day.
The proposed project must focus on empowering youth, targeting individuals ranging from children to young adults between the ages of 6 and 35 years old. The proposed project should provide services to local communities in the vicinity of Link’s properties.
The proposed project should not have the sole or dominant purpose of promoting a particular political event/campaign or a specific religious event.

Prize

The winning team will receive a cash prize of HK$100,000.

Event Calendar

1. Networking Day

Two sessions of Networking Day will be held on 21 and 27 September 2023.

2. Consultation

Participating organisations may attend a 30-minute consultation session with our Collab Partner prior to submitting the proposal. During this session, advice and consultation will be provided regarding the proposed ideas.
The shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to receive an additional 30-minute consultation session for presentation advice before Pitching Day.

3. Pitching Day

The shortlisted teams will deliver their presentations to the judging panel, which will be followed by a Q&A session involving the panel and public members including youth.

Required Documents for Application

1. A Project Proposal submitted by applying team in the form of PowerPoint presentation or slides with below sections:

Key Social Problems(s) to be addressed
Solutions and details with supporting data and context
Implementation plan
Ways of collaboration
Resources required
Other information (if appliable);

2. Experience/ references relevant to community development and services, such as children and youth service;

3. Declaration by the Applicant Organisation Form signed by Authorised Person of the applicant organisation with company chop of each applying organisation;

4. Registration documents (Business Registration Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate of charity status) of each applying organisation.
