The rainstorm in September 2023 brought unprecedented disruption to lives and devastation around Hong Kong. In the Wong Tai Sin district, many in the community felt heartbroken as they watched the lower ground floor of Link’s Temple Mall North Wing got swamped in the flooding.
TYet disasters and crisis often bring out the best in people. As soon as the black rainstorm signal was taken off on 8 September, the cleaning team swiftly went to work. They managed to drain most of the water and remove piles and piles of rubbish from the lower ground floor within 24 hours. Over the weekend, the team also finished clearing the walkways around the building of debris and mud. As at the end of September, renovation and repair work for the affected floor are already underway, and the public will soon be able to see the new look!
Other than the lower ground floor of the North Wing, the rest of Temple Mall has been operating as normal, with the Mid-autumn Bunny Fiesta event being launched as scheduled. The public are welcomed to take photos of the giant 4-metre-tall moon rabbit lantern and get a feel of the harvest of happiness.
And on that note, the team at Channel 823 would like to wish you and your family a happy Mid-autumn festival. May the beauty of the moonlight bring you peace and joy!
