Link Asset Management Limited (Link), the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Link REIT, stock code: 823) announces the launch of the first NFT (non-fungible token) project co-created by the people of Hong Kong. The project, named “Bless HK Lantern Festival”, will be held during 14-27 May 2022 as part of a series of accredited events celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Nicholas Allen, Link’s Chairman, said:

“Thanks to the resilience and loving care shown by everyone in Hong Kong over the past two years, we’ve managed to weather the many ups and downs during our fight against the pandemic. We now invite all Hong Kong people to come together to create digital lanterns as a sign of hope for the health of our loved ones and prosperity of our society.”

Hong Kong people are invited to customise their own digital lanterns and messages of hope via the designated event website on Link’s community e-magazine Channel 823, or the interactive installation at Lok Fu Place. All digital lanterns created will be collated into an NFT animated video and presented in a limited edition of three commemorative copies. A winner will be drawn at random from all participants in the NFT Video Lucky Draw and be given one NFT animated video as the prize. [Note 1]

For each digital lantern made and released, Link will donate $25 to Food Angel [Note 2] to support the needy in the community with hot meals and food packs.
