The Year of the Dragon unfolds in joyous splendour! Nailong, everyone's favourite character, shines as the star of the show, bringing good fortune and cheer to both Temple Mall and Choi Yuen Plaza as the celebrated mascot of the Year of the Dragon. Join us in a celebration of strength and vitality to welcome the new year! From 20 January to 3 March 2024, these two shopping destinations will come alive with the “Celestial Dragon New Year Celebration”. Nailong, in all its cuteness, will feature in various enchanting settings. At Temple Mall, a CNY Dragon Dance installation, showcasing traditional local paper craftsmanship, will add a whimsical touch, with Nailong playfully participating in the dragon dance. Meanwhile, Choi Yuen Plaza will host a towering 3-metre-tall inflatable Nailong, providing a grand welcome and bestowing wishes of fortune for the Year of the Dragon.
This festive period offers an array of exclusive, limited-edition Nailong collectibles for Link Up members, including Chinese New Year fai chuns and peaceful amulets. Additionally, both malls will be abuzz with festive activities, including interactive lion dance eye-dotting games and lively dragon dance shows to ring in the new year. Special meet-and-greet sessions with Nailong are scheduled, where the beloved character will mingle, offering New Year's greetings and blessings for health, happiness, and prosperity in the Year of the Dragon!
A 3.5-metre-tall dragon head installation extends Chinese New Year greetings
Following Nailong’s appearance at Lok Fu Place, the beloved character cordially invites everyone to Temple Mall and Choi Yuen Plaza for an extravagant Chinese New Year celebration. As the star of the show, Nailong will spread good fortune and prosperity throughout both malls. The impressive 3.5-metre dragon dance installation, meticulously handcrafted by the young artisans of Hung C Lau, is sure to impress. This commanding structure features the charming Nailong, now a part of the dragon dance team, wishing everyone a prosperous Chinese New Year. Moreover, visitors can head to the Nailong Arch on the ground floor of Temple Mall North for a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere, while in Temple Mall South, Nailong takes on the role of the God of Wealth. Make sure to spin the wind wheel for good luck and a year filled with wealth and abundance!
Additionally, three 3-metre-tall inflatable Nailongs at Choi Yuen Plaza are ready to welcome guests. The giant inflatable dessert-loving Nailong holds its favourite sweets and fai chun, blessing everyone with a sweet and blissful Chinese New Year.
