Link Asset Management Limited (Link) is committed to consistently enhancing its malls to offer exceptional shopping and leisure experiences for customers. Tuen Mun’s Sam Shing has long attracted visitors eager to savour its seafood, making the area a vibrant cultural and recreational destination. Link’s iconic Sam Shing Commercial Centre in the district has recently completed its enhancement project. Along with beautifying the mall’s façade and creating large-scale murals showcasing the area’s unique features. To align with its new image, the mall is launching the "Sam Shing Seafood Festival" from 15 November to 31 December 2024, it now offers a series of dining and transportation privileges. Combined with nearby tourist attractions, it serves as a destination for the public to experience “Freshness,” “Rewards,” and “Fun.”
The large-scale murals inside Sam Shing Commercial Centre are created by Messy Desk, a rising post-80s muralist and illustrator in Hong Kong. True to her signature style, she employs vibrant colours and playful details to unveil a seafood gourmet map of Sam Shing in mural form. The mural at Sam Shing Commercial Place measures 13 metres in length and 4.5 metres in height, featuring the Castle Peak Bay Promenade where visitors can stroll and enjoy the coastal scenery, fishing boats by the shore and fresh seafood, the characteristic Sam Shing Cooked Food Stalls, and the famous Sam Shing Temple in the district, vividly depicting the unique cultural and lifestyle elements of Sam Shing. The exterior walls are adorned with large-scale artwork, featuring ocean blue and turquoise green as a backdrop, complemented by striking fresh fish patterns that echo the coastline of the promenade.
Freshness: Savour the delicious, fresh seafood in the area and enjoy quality time together
The renewed mall decorations seem to beckon the public to seek “Freshness.” Customers can purchase seafood from local merchants, stalls, and boat operators, then have it processed and cooked by the restaurants at Sam Shing Commercial Centre, allowing them to enjoy incredibly fresh seafood. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Tuen Mun Castle Peak Bay Promenade offers stunning coastal views along the way. Afterwards, they can indulge in a seafood feast at Sam Shing Commercial Centre.
Rewards: The mall offers spending rewards, dining and transportation rebates
To celebrate the completion of the Sam Shing Commercial Centre renovation, Link Up members can enjoy a series of exciting rewards during the event period. Upon spending a designated amount, members can redeem a $300 seafood dining coupon for Sam Shing merchants and a $50 Uber ride voucher, among other rewards. In addition, members can redeem the Sam Shing Limited Edition Victory Bowl. Gifts are available in limited quantities, while stocks last.
Fun: Stroll through the colourful murals within the mall and explore hidden gems in the surrounding area
In addition to the murals by Messy Desk, Link invited teachers and students from the Hong Kong Design Institute to enhance the Sam Shing Commercial Centre. They created large murals inspired by the area's unique features—seafood, fishing boats, and hidden scenic spots—showcasing its charm. Nearby the Tuen Mun Sam Shing Estate also offers hidden gems like the Grade II historic Sam Shing Temple and the Castle Peak Bay Pier, a popular filming location. Early autumn is the perfect time to stroll along the Castle Peak Bay Promenade, enjoying expansive views of the Sam Shing Typhoon Shelter and the stunning Tuen Mun coastline.
Furthermore, the mall has produced a short video titled "The Seafood Feast I Had," which highlights the joy of dining and enjoying activities in Sam Shing through a heartwarming love story and a catchy, humorous song.
