Link Asset Management Limited (Link), the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Link REIT), was pleased to award Link University Scholarship to 220 students this year. The awardees, representing all 12 eligible universities in Hong Kong, were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants for their academic excellence and meaningful contributions to the community. A scholarship presentation ceremony was held on 24 January 2026 (Saturday) to honour their outstanding achievements.
Link’s board members and senior management were joined at the ceremony by distinguished guests, including a panel of judges composed of leaders from the public, business, education and social services sectors who participated in last year’s interview process, as well as representatives from various universities.
At the ceremony, Duncan Owen, Link’s Chair, congratulated awardees and reaffirmed Link’s dedication to youth development: “Established in 2015, the Link University Scholarship reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing social mobility in Hong Kong. Today, it stands as one of the city’s largest private-sector-sponsored scholarship programmes, supporting 220 students across all four years of study from both university grants committee‑funded and self‑financing universities. This year, we are proud to welcome awardees from every eligible university. By recognising academic excellence, encouraging community engagement and easing financial barriers, we continue to empower and provide opportunities to the next generation of leaders in Hong Kong."
Hon Grace Chan Man-yee, Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), said at the ceremony: “Link University Scholarship provides awardees with a unique opportunity to connect with peers from various universities and professionals across diverse sectors, enriching their networks and offering valuable insights for their holistic development. As you embark on this journey, I encourage all awardees to leverage this experience by actively pursuing personal goals and engaging in community service. By making meaningful contributions to society, you will not only foster your own growth but also enrich the community as a whole.”
Among this year’s awardees are five all‑time scholars, students who have received the scholarship for four consecutive years, including three from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and two from The University of Hong Kong.
Link expressed its gratitude to the community leaders who have supported the scholarship’s selection process. Last year, more than 60 judges interviewed shortlisted candidates from over 1,500 applications, providing valuable insights to identify the most deserving recipients. Seven previous Link scholars also served on the judging panel, helping to carry forward the programme’s legacy.
As part of its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, Link announced the introduction of a new scholarship initiative for secondary school students, which will honour 50 outstanding secondary three or four students in Hong Kong.
Last year, Link introduced the Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Student Scholarship to recognise exceptional secondary school students. Building on that success and inspired by the enduring impact of its university scholarship programme, Link is launching the Link Secondary Student Scholarship this year. This new initiative underscores Link’s belief in the potential of young people and its dedication to supporting their aspirations, confidence and ability to shape the future of Hong Kong.
The application deadline for Link Secondary Student Scholarship is 9 February 2026. For details, please refer to the dedicated webpage.
