Link Asset Management Limited (Link), a leading global real estate investment manager, is the new title sponsor of the "Link Hong Kong Open" golf championship for the next three years starting from 2024. In anticipation of the 15th National Games in 2025, where Hong Kong will organise golf games alongside seven other competition events, Link is raising its game to promote golfing in local communities with "Link Golf Experience Day", a roving initiative taking place at four Link malls over four weekends for the public to sample the fun on the green for free. A kick-off ceremony was held today at Kai Tin Shopping Centre, where Link Group CEO George Hongchoy joined District Officer (Kwun Tong) Denny Ho, Hong Kong Golf Club General Manager Ian Gardner and local professional golfer Terrence Ng, as well as actor Simon Yam to officiate at the ceremony.
George Hongchoy, Link Group Chief Executive Officer, said at the kick-off ceremony, "Link is taking on title sponsorship of the 'Link Hong Kong Open' golf championship for the next three years. This marquee event on the city’s sporting calendar draws in not only professional and amateur golfers at home and abroad, but also spectators from all over the world, injecting fresh impetus to our tourism and the government-led 'mega event economy' initiative. As a Hong Kong headquartered company with deep community connections, Link will help to promote golf on a community level starting with our ‘Link Golf Experience Day’."
Ian Gardner, Hong Kong Golf Club General Manager, commented, "Hong Kong Golf Club is a passionate organiser of international golf events. I am glad to announce the three-year title sponsorship with Link for the 'Link Hong Kong Open'. I am confident that support from Link will help promote golf to a wider audience, thereby facilitating the sustainable development of the sport."
Four Link malls to host free roving "Link Golf Experience Day"
The "Link Golf Experience Day" will be held at Kai Tin Shopping Centre, Lok Fu Place, Stanley Plaza and TKO Spot respectively over four weekends between 26 October and 17 November. Three Play Zones featuring interactive games, a golf simulator as well as exhibition stands will be in place for everyone to sample golf swings and get initiated with the sport. Members of the public can participate for free by downloading the Link Up mobile app and registering as a member.
