Link Asset Management Limited (Link), the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Hong Kong stock code: 823), today announced its commitment to supporting tenants impacted by the recent fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po last week.
We express our deepest condolences to those affected for their loss and pain. Our properties at Wang Fuk Court and Kwong Fuk Estate serve communities that have been deeply affected by this event. Over the past few days, Link has maintained close communication with tenants to understand their needs and is committed to providing timely, targeted assistance.
Link plans to offer rental relief for tenants at Kwong Fuk Commercial Centre and concession waiver for patrons at Wang Fuk Car Park. Key measures will include tariff and rental concessions, flexible rental payment arrangements, waivers of late payment interest and service charges. The concession will run until the lease expires or for up to 12 months.
Additional measures already in place include providing our facilities and property management services in Kwong Fuk Commercial Centre round the clock for the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts, an immediate waiver for December parking fees for monthly patrons at Wang Fuk Court and providing alternative parking at designated Link car parks through year-end.
We will continue to monitor and engage with tenants and patrons in the coming months to provide targeted reliefs and help support and serve the wider community in the affected areas
During the height of the emergency, Link worked closely with government departments and community representatives to set up on-site support at Kwong Fuk Commercial Centre, facilitating resource coordination. Additional staff remain deployed at the mall to assist those on-site, including residents who are still temporarily sheltering there.
Recovery will be a long journey and requires sustained collaboration. Beyond immediate relief, Link is actively engaging with community and NGO partners to identify ways to contribute resources and provide meaningful, long-term support for recovery and resilience. Further updates will be shared in due course.
As part of the Tai Po community, Link remains fully committed to standing alongside residents and continuing to work with the government and community organisations to support those affected during this challenging period.
