The Link partnered with Chris Lau, Hong Kong’s first full-time “Pop-up book artist”, in presenting 3D models featuring food streets, Tokyo Tower, Dotonbori in Osaka and Sakura Park in Hokkaido, which made everyone feel as if they were on the streets in Japan. The event attracted a large number of visitors who took photos in front of the models and enjoyed this immersion into Japanese culture.

The Link brought the “Noge Street Performance”, one of Japan’s top street culture shows, to Hong Kong for the first time, and a number of different street art performers staged performances every Saturday during the event period. The combination of local and Japanese arts and cultures made the event especially diverse and helped integrate arts into the community.

Continuing the overwhelming success of last year’s “Japanese Food Festival at The Link”, The Link held “Japanese Street Art at The Link” at Lok Fu Plaza to celebrate the plaza’s 2nd anniversary. The five-week-long celebratory event featured a series of activities that brought many of Japan’s popular attractions and street art performances to Lok Fu Plaza, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Japanese street art and enjoy a refreshing shopping experience. The celebration was ended on 31 May. Nearly a thousand families came to Lok Fu Plaza over the five-week period to participate in the activities.
