With this year’s theme of ‘Building a Happy Community’, the newly designed Dragon Bike will perform its dynamic dance at The Link’s Tin Shui Shopping Centre, spreading happiness, wishes and fortune.

The Link’s famed ‘Happy CNRide’ and ‘Bike Dragon Dance’ will this year be held on Saturday 21 February, the third day of Chinese New Year. A full registration of over 1,000 participants was recorded. This is the first year that The Link has combined its popular Happy CNRide event with its ongoing efforts in environmental protection. The company has pledged to convert all the accumulated biked mileage from the occasion to donations that support energy-poor households in Hong Kong through World Green Organisation (WGO) initiatives. The Link’s annual flagship event, Bike Dragon Dance, will be held during the evening.

“The Link’s Happy CNRide and Bike Dragon Dance have become our company’s signature annual events and, together, create one of the most favourable celebrations for Hong Kong residents,” said George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of The Link Management Ltd. “This year, we’ve turned it into an even more meaningful event by converting the participants’ mileage into donations of energy-saving appliances to the energy-poor households. This initiative demonstrates The Link’s continuous commitment to sustainability,” he said.

Details of the activities:

Happy CNRide links Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai

This will be the fourth CNRide to be staged by The Link, its route connecting The Link’s shopping malls in Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai.

Kids’ biking challenge and fun performances at the Happy CNRide carnival

Closely following the bike parade will be the ‘Happy CNRide’ carnival. Even more special this year, the ‘Little Lambs Trike Challenge’ invites children to dress up as little lambs and compete in a riding challenge on tricycles, accompanied by their parents, bringing even more heart-warming enjoyment to the festival. The carnival will also host ‘Happy Green Game Booths’, which not only promote environmental protection, but also heighten the festive atmosphere. A series of dynamic performances will also take place to ‘wow’ the crowd, including a dance performance by Bacolod City MassKara from the Philippines, a street dance performance by ‘The Way We Dance’, an artistic cycling performance, and an LED water drum performance.

The Link’s annual flagship event, Bike Dragon Dance, will be held during the evening. The loved event is once again expected to attract a significant number of onlookers. George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of The Link Management Ltd., and Andy Cheung, Chief Financial Officer of The Link Management Ltd., will lead the opening ceremony to introduce the three-metre-tall custom-made Dragon Bike, lighting up the participating bicycles and launching the Bike Dragon Dance. Teaming up with Alan Ho, gold medallist at the National Games of the People's Republic of China, The Link will then lead Hong Kong’s biking enthusiasts to form the Bike Dragon as it swirls around Joy Square at The Link’s Tin Shui Shopping Centre, spreading happiness and good fortune to the community.
