The Link celebrated the official grand opening of its flagship shopping centre H.A.N.D.S with the launch of H.A.N.D.S Midsummer Fest with a month-long festival of food and fun to be held every weekend from now until August 9.
The H.A.N.D.S Food Fiesta, a key event of the Midsummer Fest, features Hong Kong’s top ten must-eat local snacks in Tuen Mun with mouth-watering delicacies include the Korean U-shaped corn ice cream, hand-made fruity ice sticks, Cheung Chau Korean-style caramel cake, custom mocktails. The Link has invited renowned dessert guru, Jeffrey Koo (Chef Koo) to prepare two exclusive desserts for the Fiesta with special ingredients and brand new flavours. H.A.N.D.S has also partnered with designated restaurants to launch a special summer menu for shoppers and foodies to enjoy. H.A.N.D.S adopts originality in staging the Midsummer Fest, providing families a fun place to go this summer.

The Link’s management including, George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer; Andy Cheung, Chief Financial Officer; Peionie Kong, Director of Leasing and Marketing; Dick Leung, Director of Project and Development; BC Lo, Director of Corporate Communications and External Relations and Gordon Wu, Director of Property Management and Operations, officiated the ceremony. Guests were invited to join the H.A.N.D.S Food Fiesta VIP Tour to enjoy the wide array of exciting tastes and flavours on offer.
George Hongchoy said, “H.A.N.D.S is our largest asset enhancement project to date, costing close to HK$ 500 million. It is a unique project for us that combines the former On Ting Commercial Complex and Yau Oi Shopping Centre to create this modern and spacious one-stop shopping landmark in Tuen Mun. H.A.N.D.S stands for “Have A Nice Day Shopping”, a new concept based on comfort and casualness. The shopping centre features over 160 shops offering a variety of products and services that cater to the community needs. New restaurants featuring international cuisines are also being introduced to Tuen Mun for the first time.

Adding to the lively festivities and tasty delights, The Link invited Chef Koo to teach children from underprivileged families from HOPE Worldwide the craft of dessert making, adding delight and creativity to a meaningful and responsible cause.
The Link also launched the H.A.N.D.S Market Weekend Foodfest with celebrity chef Ricky Cheung guiding budding gourmands through the fresh market, giving impromptu cooking demonstrations and sharing cooking tips. The H.A.N.D.S Market Service Ambassadors will also host the 24 Solar Terms cooking demonstration using recipes specially prepared by Ricky Cheung. The recipes have been developed exclusively for The Link’s fresh markets to encourage healthy eating habits and a new approach to fresh market shopping.
In the spirit of community celebration, The Link also launched H.A.N.D.S Weekend of Discovery. This event will set up multiple and challenging game areas for the public to participate in and enjoy. With a range of fabulous prizes and limited edition redemption gifts waiting to be claimed, visitors can count on plenty of fun-filled and exciting summer days to come.
