The famous Hong Kong painter Au Yeung Nai-chim and his son Craig Au Yeung  are invited by The Link, for the first time, to design the festive “Flower, Bird, Dragon and Fish” red packets for the Year of the Dragon. Integrating the father’s skillful watercolour painting technique and the son’s contemporary graphic design, the red packets deliver the message of harmony and interaction between two generations.

“Chinese New Year Lucky Bag” includes attractive gifts. Shoppers may get a chance to win a HK$1,200 worth of Chow Tai Fook’s gold pendant.

To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, The Link will offer customers the first prize and first fortune of the year! Effective from 1 Jan 2012, customers spending a specific amount of money in The Link’s 35 shopping centres can redeem a set of four red packets designed by the famous Hong Kong painter Au Yeung Nai-chim and his son, cross-media artist Craig Au Yeung. The red packet is made of recycled paper with fine design. (Redemption is available with a daily quota and while stock lasts).

Red packet redemption:

Designated shopping centres under The Link (see the appendix):
Every HK$200 spending, with two same-day machine-printed receipts.
The Link’s Tai Yuen Market:
Every HK$50 spending, with three same-day Octopus receipts.

Also, customers can redeem a free “Chinese New Year Lucky Bag” with a minimum spending of HK$800 with three separate machine-printed receipts within seven days in The Link’s 12 shopping centres. Abounding prizes in the lucky bags are worth more than HK$3 million. Shoppers may get a chance to win a Chow Tai Fook’s gold pendant valued at HK$1,200.  Other prizes include Zwilling J.A. Henckels kitchen appliances, Levis’s fashionable watches, supermarket cash coupons … etc.  The redemption of the lucky bags is available with a daily quota and while stock lasts.

Shopping centres for lucky bag redemption include: Lok Fu Plaza, Wong Tai Sin Plaza, Lung Cheung Plaza, Kai Tin Shopping Centre, Stanley Plaza, Siu Sai Wan Plaza, Hau Tak Shopping Centre, Nan Fung Plaza, Chung On Shopping Centre, Butterfly Plaza, Wo Che Plaza, and Cheung Fat Plaza.

Introduction of Au Yeung Nai-chim and his son Craig Au Yeung :

Au Yeung Nai-chim is a famous Hong Kong painter who learnt western painting at his early age. His works are mostly oil paintings, watercolour paintings and engravings. In recent years, he focuses on watercolour and wash paintings. He is one of the first-generation local painters with outstanding achievements. He likes painting from nature and his footprint is all over Hong Kong and China. Fishing ports, streets and small villages are major themes of his works.  With strong observation skill, he is good at integrating Hong Kong’s historical buildings and streets in his paintings and has created a unique local art style. His son Craig Au Yeung is a famous Hong Kong cross-media artist.
