The Link’s Stanley Plaza will kick off this summer with an aqua- fantasy themed experience during the Dragon Boat Festival. For the first time in Hong Kong, the wildly popular water-based graffiti from the USA will delight Plaza visitors. Jointly presented by Stanley Plaza and local graffiti guru, Uncle Tsang, five creative yet invisible artworks will be hidden around the Plaza. To participate, visitors need only arm themselves with water guns and arrive at the venue, where they can explore the Plaza to discover the hidden artworks by splashing water. During specified times, the aqua-powered “marshall” will launch a water “splash-in” for adults and children for the best of summer fun.
During the festival weekend, The Link and the Hong Kong Markets Organisation will jointly hold the Stanley Plaza Seaside Market. At this open-air market, a range of local young vendors and Stanley Plaza tenants will showcase special cuisines and creative crafts; together with live music, handicraft workshops and more. With nearly 50 market stalls, visitors of all ages will enjoy this special seaside shopping experience. Vendors include:
Fête de la Musique and Gift Redemptions
To add to the weekend fun, on Sunday the 21st , the Music Day in Stanley Plaza will be held. Inspired by the Fête de la Musique and originally launched by The French Ministry of Culture in 1982, this fête offers visitors a delightful programme of popular music to enjoy throughout the day. Shoppers who spend HK$300 at Stanley Plaza can participate in a complimentary handicraft creation workshop and create special accessories to keep as timeless souvenirs. Shoppers who spend up to HK$500 can redeem a travel plug converter. (Spending at Seaside Market are excluded. Souvenirs available while stocks last on a first-come first-served basis.)
