In the spirit of giving during the Christmas season, Link Asset Management Limited (“Link”) joins hands with the local charity Music Children Foundation to organise the ‘Music Children at Link’ musical instrument collection campaign. This campaign invites the donation of musical instruments for underprivileged children. Starting from Christmas Eve, followed by Christmas Day and six consecutive weekends until the end of January 2016, 10 of Link’s shopping malls welcome the donation of a range of musical instruments including trumpets, trombones, euphoniums, French horns, cellos, flutes, clarinets and glockenspiels. All collected musical instruments will be given to underprivileged students taking music lessons at the Music Children Foundation. Linking the community to a brighter future through music George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of Link, said, “Music Children Foundation is one of the charitable orgnisations supported by our Link Together Initiatives in 2015/16. Their work aligns closely with the Initiatives’ focus area of education, training and development of children and youth. In addition to offering concessionary rent and funding, we draw upon the community’s support by offering our extensive network of shopping malls as collection centres.” Music Children Foundation is dedicated to providing free training on musical instruments to underprivileged children aged below 12 to develop their potential and talent other than through academic work and to build their self-confidence. Monique Wu, founder of the Foundation, said, “Apart from Link Together Initiatives’ generous funding, we are grateful for Link’s offer of concessionary rent when establishing our centre at Fu Cheong Shopping Centre. This space gives our children a comfortable environment for choir practice and music lessons. Through the musical instrument collection campaign, we hope to benefit more children from grassroots families, offering them the exposure and the opportunity to cultivate their interest in classical music.” Marking its tenth anniversary, Link continues to contribute to the sustainable development of local communities with its “Link Together Initiatives” and social and environmental care. A total contribution of HK$3.3 billion is made to benefit over half a million individuals, which includes some HK$3 billion venue sponsorship to some 160 charitable organisations, HK$200 million barrier-free access improvement work, and other sponsorship and investment made through its flagship charity programme “Link Together Initiatives” and environmental projects.
