The “Wine Pairing Banquet”, the key event of “Gourmet in Style”, was held at Haorizi Banquet at The Link’s Wo Che Plaza in Sha Tin on 11 October. Over 200 customers earned tickets to the special banquet by spending designated amounts at designated shopping malls of The Link during the month of September. At the banquet, gourmet traveller Walter Kei and the restaurant selected six traditional Cantonese recipes and created two crossover dishes with a view to having a fusion theme. For the first time, The Link partnered with wine website Openwines, which is renowned for its excellent food and wine matching. The dinner featured a fine selection of wines from famous wineries, bringing a deluxe tasting experience to customers. “Gourmet in Style” will continue in Sha Tin with a lucky draw to be held from 15 October to 15 November 2013 that will reward a total of HK$35,000 in travel vouchers to three lucky winners. “Gourmet in Style” will then continue in Tin Shui Wai. Walter Kei has invited his friend Ricky Cheung, a famous chef, to co-host the event and exchange cooking techniques with residents of North District. Perfect ending for the Wine Pairing Banquet in Sha Tin…Tin Shui Wai is next! The Wine Pairing Banquet featured six well-known, traditional Cantonese dishes as well as two crossover dishes that melded Chinese and Western ingredients and traditional and contemporary cooking styles.
