Last year, gourmet traveller Walter Kei helped kick off ‘Gourmet in Style’, The Link’s interactive gastronomic event combining wine and a range of innovative crossover dishes. This year, The Link is pleased to invite him back to collaborate with restaurants at The Link’s shopping centres in Shatin District to create popular dishes and offer guests new dining experiences.
In November, Walter Kei invited his good friend and famous chef, Ricky Cheung as the guest host. Ricky will work together with chefs from restaurants in The Link's shopping centres in Tin Shui Wai to create a range of crossover dishes that fuse different cuisines. His expertise in employing Western cooking methods will add a new element to the restaurants as they offer more crossover dishes to visitors of Tin Shui Wai. A set of creative recipe cards will be available with simple, creative recipes for Western cuisine that can be used by foodies and aspiring chefs at home. Together with the head chef of Victoria Harbour Restaurant at The Link's Tin Shui Wai Chung Fu Plaza, Ricky Cheung will also host a Wine Pairing Banquet, where guests can savour a gastronomic experience.
Enjoy free food and wine at the popular Wine Pairing Banquet
Following the popularity of the Wine Pairing Banquet held in Sha Tin in September, the Tin Shui Wai Wine Pairing Banquet will be held on Friday, 29 November at the Victoria Harbour Restaurant in Tin Shui Wai's Chung Fu Plaza. At the event, Ricky Cheung will share wine pairing tips with participants. He and the head chef at Chung Fu Plaza's Victoria Harbour Restaurant will create two improvised Western-style Cantonese crossover dishes (Shrimp Mousse Balls tinged with Golden Leaf and Sea urchin and Scrambled Italian Egg with Black Truffle) along with six traditional dishes. Selected New World wines will be introduced and paired up with the dishes, delighting the palettes of guests. Renowned food-related TV programme emcee Kam Kong will serve again as the guest host. He and Ricky Cheung will share their food experiences and also stage an impromptu magic performance as they walk guests through a culinary tour. There will also be a wine tasting area which offers guests with complementary wines from around the world.
Customers who wish to participate can purchase tickets online for HK$450 or earn tickets by shopping at designated shopping centres of The Link. Between November 1 and 24, customers who spend a total of HK$2,000 can earn one ticket to the Wine Pairing Banquet; customers who spend more than HK$3,500 can earn two tickets.
