The Link is dedicated to promoting community sustainability and supporting different kinds of environmental friendly activities. By providing its support to The Airmazing Race 2013 of Clean Air Network, The Link encouraged participants to understand the air pollution problem in Hong Kong and raise the public awareness of it.
The unique scavenger hunt of air pollution issues in Hong Kong The Airmazing Race 2013 was the third edition of this unique scavenger hunt, which was free to join. Using low carbon emission public transport, participants travelled to different checkpoints around Hong Kong, including the three shopping centres of The Link (Lok Fu Plaza, Lei Yue Mun Plaza and Oi Tung Shopping Centre) to complete different missions related to knowledge about air pollution issues in a fun, interactive and original approach. Held on 6 July, The Airmazing Race 2013 received an overwhelming response by attracting nearly 1,000 students from more than 80 secondary schools. The event successfully raised awareness and understanding among participants and the general public of the air pollution problem in Hong Kong. Enhance the community’s green awareness through The Link’s network Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said “The Link has always committed to the sustainable development and incorporate environmental friendly concept into community by leveraging its network of shopping centres. In addition to being the diamond sponsor of The Airmazing Race 2013, The Link also provided checkpoint venues at three of its shopping centres. To further promote a low-carbon lifestyle to the public, The Link will organise the “30-Hour Low Carbon Campaign” on 17-18 August, which will be Hong Kong’s first environmental marathon event, inviting the public to complete a series of low-carbon missions in shopping centres of The Link across Hong Kong within 30 hours. The campaign is designed to raise community awareness of the benefits of a greener and low-carbon lifestyle. |
