To promote ‘Healthy life and beautiful mind’ to the general public, The Link Management Limited (‘The Link’) has collaborated with Wai Yin Association for the second year in a roll and this year supporting the Association at its 30th Anniversary programme with the theme of ‘Health’ by providing free venues and promotions support. The series of events include Wai Yin x Canon 212 Walk For Love, Wai Yin 30th Anniversary Charity Ball 2012, TES 2012 Germany Trip and Wai Yin Mooncake For Charity 2012. ‘Wai Yin Association 30th Anniversary Press Conference’ was held at Podium Food Square of Lok Fu Plaza on 5 Jan. The press conference was with the presence of a number of past presidents and members of Wai Yin Association including Angie Chiu, Ellen Wong, Kayi Cheung, Loletta Chu, Mandy Cho, May Ng, Monica Chan and Winnie Young, etc. Funds raised in the charitable events will support beneficiaries of various health-related projects, addressing various topics ranging from ecological issues to physical and mental health.
This year is Wai Yin Association 30th Anniversary since its establishment, the organizer invited three tenants who have been doing their businesses at Lok Fu Plaza and grown up with the residents for nearly 30 years. Tenants included the owner of Tai Fong Studio Lee Kai-ming, the owner of Lau Yu Fat Tea Shop Lau Kwok-ho and the owner of World Hand-knit Yarns Jackson Yuen.
Shop owner of Tai Fong Studio, Lee Kai-ming who introduced the very first 1-hour film developing machine in the entire East Kowloon area to its shop said in a smile, ‘Located near Broadcast Drive and MTR Lok Fu Station with the high accessibility, Lok Fu Plaza has attracted the patrons from TV stations and radio stations over the years. The epoch-making changes can also be peeped through the photography industry.’

About Wai Yin Association Wai Yin Association was formed in 1982 by a group of community-conscious Miss Hong Kong title-holders and finalists committed to the betterment of their society. With its mission: Wai Yin participates in charitable events and community services, as well as the promotion of cultural arts to support Hong Kong’s international standing. Through various fundraising events, the Association has donated over ten millions of dollars to more than one hundred charitable institutions throughout Hong Kong, China and Myanmar.
