Summer is here! For four consecutive weeks (3–24 June), music lovers will be able to enjoy outstanding musical performances during the Sunday Summer Jam at Stanley Plaza.
The first show held yesterday (3 June) featured Azucar Latina, Quatro Ritmo, The Bollands and The Grace Notes. The audience clapped along to the beat of electronic music, Latin rhythms, soothing folk songs and the renditions of the a cappella group, the Women’s Choir.
Miss Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said, “Stanley Plaza is keen on organising free events to promote music and cultural and artistic exchanges. Surrounded by natural scenery, Stanley Plaza is an ideal outdoor platform for musicians to showcase their talents.”
The four upcoming music performances will feature local and international bands and singers at the Stanley Plaza Amphitheatre. They include Ashia, Peri M, Match Box and Joint-U Band, performing a number of hit songs.
On 23 June during The Dragon International Boat Festival, Stanley Plaza will sponsor the first Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships at Stanley Main Beach. Both the Stanley Plaza Mixed Division finals and Stanley Plaza Gold Cup Final will be held on that day.
During the festival, Stanley Plaza will host the Dragon Boat Summer Jam. In addition to music, the show will include samba and can can dances as well as an African drum performance.
Admission is free for the Sunday Summer Jam and Dragon Boat Summer Jam. There will also be free shuttle bus service between Admiralty and Stanley Plaza from 12 noon to 10pm every hour, every Sunday in June and on 23 June for the Dragon Boat Festival. The shuttle bus runs between Admiralty MTR Station Exit A and Stanley Plaza.
