On 2 Jun in Stanley, waves of festive cheers once again filled the neighbourhood as the annual Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships took place to mark the traditional Tuen Ng Festival. For the third successive year, The Link Management Limited ("The Link") sponsored the flagship annual community event, with the Stanley Plaza name adorning the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Division” and the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Gold Cup”. Andy Cheung, Chief Financial Officer of The Link, was among the officiating guests at the opening ceremony and also presented awards to the winning teams after the competitions ended. “The Link Elite” team, formed by staff from The Link, participated in the race and competed fiercely for the championship.

The Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships has been well received by athletes and spectators alike over the years. This year, a record 190 teams comprising 3,800 participants took part in the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Division” and the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Gold Cup”. From noon till the evening, local and international bands, including SoHuman, Match Box, Azucar Latina, Sensi Lion, Kolor and Supper Moment, delivered dynamic and energetic performances. Presented by The Link’s Stanley Plaza, “Stanley Plaza Sunday Summer Jam” will present a series of free music shows on 15, 22 and 29 June, carrying on the energetic vibe of the Dragon Boat Championships. To experience the carefree flip-flop lifestyle, on each of the event days, visitors can redeem a pair of “Sunday Summer Jam” special edition flip-flops at Customer Service Counter by presenting a same-day machine-printed receipt of any purchase made at Stanley Plaza, or by posting a Facebook status update with location check-in and a photo of themselves wearing flip-flops.
