On the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday long weekend, The Link’s annual canine extravaganza, Stanley Plaza PAWS by the Sea 2013, kicked off, attracting over 1,000 dogs and their owners! This year the theme of the carnival is “New Take on Life and Style in Doggie’s Way”.
The Link partnered with the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) to organise a series of fun events for dogs and their owners, who had the chance to win wonderful prizes worth a total of over HK$400,000. Following past successes, this coming weekend, Stanley Plaza PAWS by the Seas will, for the third year running, try to make history with a new Guinness World Records Official Attempt! No dog lover can afford to miss this spectacular carnival! Diverse activities highlight “New Take on Life and Style in Doggie’s Way” With the theme of “New Take on Life and Style in a Doggie’s Way”, Stanley Plaza PAWS by the Sea 2013 hosted the “Doggie Prom Party” on September 21, where well-dressed dogs took part in a “Doggie Musical Dance”, “Doggie Beer Battle”, “Doggie Dress-Up Contest”, “Doggie Grand Prix” and “Doggie Prom King & Queen Contest”. On top of enjoying the music, all participated dogs were eligible to receive a pair of free doggie sunglasses and fantastic doggie gifts. The dancing fun didn’t stop there, though. At the “Stanley Plaza x Dogaroo Doggie Dance Playground”, dogs can enjoy a range of exercise facilities where they can relax and meet new canine friends. In addition to the Doggie Prom Party and the Dance Playground, Stanley Plaza also hosted a series of fun-filled and informative dog-themed activity booths, enhancing owners’ understanding of their dogs’ well-being. The booths will also be available on 28^ and 29 September. Guinness World Records™ Official Attempt: "Largest Dog Grooming Lesson" Following the success of last year’s Guinness World Records™ achievement for the “Most People Brushing Dogs’ Teeth Simultaneously”, this year on Sunday 29 September, Stanley Plaza will once again host a new Guinness World Records™ Official Attempt, this time for the “Largest Dog Grooming Lesson”. Dog owners, together with their canine companions, are welcome to take part in this extraordinary event for free. All participants will receive a special participation letter and be eligible to win wonderful prizes afterwards. Even more exciting is that they can earn the chance to help break the world record. What a perfect weekend for dogs and their owners! Adding to the fun will be the “Top Doggie Runway” contest, during which doggies can strut down the runway and compete for the title of a being a top model. Stanley Plaza Charity Doggie Bus – all proceeds go to the SAA For the convenience of participants, The Link has partnered with 99bus HK to offer a charity doggie bus route during Stanley Plaza PAWS by the Sea, with the bus travelling via Central Ferry Pier, MongKok, Yuen Long, Tai Po and Stanley Plaza over the two consecutive weekends of the event. Each passenger has to donate just HK$30 (per person/dog) and they can travel on the “Stanley Plaza Charity Doggie Bus”! All proceeds will go to the SAA.
