Following the Guinness world record-breaking “Paws by the Sea”, Stanley Plaza again hosted an international sporting event just for pets — the Stanley Plaza Olympets (National Dog Game) 2012.
A remarkable sports event from pet’s world
The first Olympets was held in Hong Kong in 2008. Since then, the competition has been hosted in many Asian cities and broken many records. This latest session of the Olympets at Stanley Plaza this year, which took place in the run-up to the London Olympics, included a 50-metre sprint, high jump, long jump, sit-up and 5-poles obstacle race. More, an applause-winning performance by a team of professional performing dogs was brought to the participants for enjoyment.
The Link supports pet-related activities in full gear
Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said, “Marked as the first dog-friendly shopping mall under The Link, Stanley Plaza strives to promote proper care of pets as one of its missions. By means of sports activities held today, we encourage close communications between dog and its owner. The event is meaningful and we, undoubtedly, offer full support to the event.”
