Piazza at Stanley Plaza Named Overall Winner of Hong Kong Public Space Awards 2013

The Piazza at Stanley Plaza, which is owned and managed by The Link Real Estate Investment Trust (“The Link REIT”) has been jointly named the “Overall Winner” and the “Most Outstanding Waterfront Area” together with Stanley Promenade in the first ever Hong Kong Public Space Awards 2013, co-organised by Hong Kong Public Space Initiative, RFP Magazine and Designing Hong Kong.

According to the jury’s comments, the Stanley waterfront area manages to serve both a significant local component and an unusually wide variety of users, supporting both programmed and unscripted activities.

Dick Leung, Director (Project & Asset Enhancement) of The Link Management Limited, said, “The Link REIT strives to offer well-designed and user-friendly public spaces to Hong Kong residents and visitors through asset enhancement projects and the provision of quality property management services. Going forward, we will continue to make good use of our properties’ public spaces, offering a quality environment to the public for cultural and recreational activities.”

The Hong Kong Public Space Awards were created in 2013 to raise the awareness of public space and to recognise stakeholders of outstanding public spaces for their contributions. Around 50 nominations were received from the public and after public voting and professional evaluation, a total of 9 public spaces were chosen as winners under different categories.
