To help young people explore and develop their potential, confront difficult situations and build up their confidence, The Link provided venue support at Stanley Plaza as the finishing point to the Outward Bound Adventure Race 2013 on 10 March 2013. The aim of the race is to provide an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves physically and mentally, as well as develop their teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills. Developing skills and confidence through physical and mental challenges With more than 100 participating teams, this year’s Outward Bound Adventure Race set a new participation record. The race started at Moreton Terrace in Causeway Bay and finished at Stanley Plaza. Covering a total distance of 19 kilometers, the race included sports like kayaking, orienteering, swimming and trail running as well as “surprise” challenges, all of which combined to challenge participants to negotiate obstacles using strategy, leadership and teamwork.
Outward Bound Hong Kong, the organiser of the Outward Bound Adventure Race 2013, is a registered charity founded in 1970. Its mission is to provide high-quality multi-disciplinary races for sports enthusiasts, with the underlying aim of developing future leaders in Hong Kong. Now in its 12th year, the Outward Bound Adventure Race keeps to raise funds to subsidies underprivileged youths to take part in future Outward Bound courses.
