Link’s Stanley Plaza and Murray House are getting ready to host Hong Kong’s first-ever Doggie Speed-Dating event at the annual outdoor pet programme, “Paws by the Sea”. The programme welcomes dogs and their owners to share their love and treasure every moment together, while dog-loving members of the public will have the chance to meet and adopt abandoned dogs in need of a home through this campaign.
Yesterday, in a lead-up to Paws by the Sea, over 500 people and their dogs gathered at Stanley Plaza, where they took part in a Guinness World Records™ Title Attempt for the “Longest Line of Glass Bottles”. Dog owners left a unique “love letter” to their furry friends, with 75,028 bottles lined up to spell “LOVE YOUR DOGS”.
This coming Saturday (30 March), Stanley Plaza will host Hong Kong’s first-ever Seaside Doggie Speed-Dating event. Organised by Link together with the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA), this unique event will include 100 dog lovers and abandoned dogs from SAA in the hope of sparking “love at first sight” and giving these dogs a loving home. In addition, the Doggie Wedding Gown Exhibition and Design Competition will be held on Sunday (31 March), during which dog owners can dress their dogs in DIY wedding gowns and other outfits, perhaps finding inspiration in the first doggie wedding gown collection by local wedding designer Bernadette Chan. Other not-to-be-missed attractions will include Mini Photo Spots for Doggie, the “Walk the Dog Experiential Tour” to raise funds for the SAA, a Doggie Photography Tour, a Pet Doctor Workshop, a Doggie Carnival Exhibition and Wedding Expo as well as a Doggie Bazaar!
All of the above activities are subject to terms and conditions, and the programme content is subject to change without notice.
