To encourage communication among family members and promote the diversified development of young people, Link has joined hands with Mattel Games to organise the first ever UNO Competition at five of its shopping centres including Lok Fu Place, Sheung Tak Plaza, Temple Mall North, Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre and Wo Che Plaza in coming October.
Public response has been overwhelming, with over 1,000 applications received since registration started a few weeks ago! The event aims to promote direct face-to-face communication, lessen the dependence on smart devices, and highlight the importance of having fun with others! Furthermore, card games can help instill positive values, and foster confidence, patience and empathy in children as they learn how to handle winning and losing in the game.
To promote the importance of enhancing parent-child relationship through games in the lead-up to the competition, Link visited NGOs and schools in different districts of Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories, including Hong Kong Christian Service Kwun Tong Happy Teens Club and Tung Wah Group of Hospital Tuen Mun Integrated Services Centre. The warm-up events had received good response from children and their parents, and enabled them to better understand how interpersonal games can benefit family relations and child development.
