Link, the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Link REIT, stock code: 823), held the Interview Day and Awards Ceremony for Link Secondary Student Scholarship on 4 July 2026 (Saturday). This year’s programme marks a milestone with the introduction of the new “Pay It Forward” initiative. Under the initiative, the top five scholarship recipients selected a non-profit organisation (NGO) in the field of active ageing to receive a $10,000 donation from Link in their honour. The initiative underscores Link’s commitment to youth empowerment and enables young people to play an active role in shaping community impact.
The ceremony recognised 50 outstanding students selected from over 200 applicants. Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $6,000 were awarded in recognition of their academic achievements, active participation in school and volunteer activities, and strong performance during the interview process.
A distinguished panel of judges from various sectors, together with Link’s senior management, evaluated the finalists on their proposals addressing the evolving social needs of the “young-old” (aged 55 to 65), with final rankings announced at the ceremony in the presence of school representatives. To enrich their application journey, all 50 students participated in workshops designed to foster peer exchange and deepen their understanding of local communities.
Christopher Brooke, Chair Alternate and Independent Non-Executive Director of Link, presented scholarships to the top five students. He said: “Link is proud to support Hong Kong secondary students not only through our scholarships, but also through workshops and learning opportunities that enable them to connect, share ideas and reflect on community needs. These experiences are intended to inspire students to remain connected with their communities and contribute positively to society at the same time as pursuing academic excellence.”
Hon Grace Chan, Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) said: “We are pleased to continue our partnership with Link in supporting local youth through the scholarship programme. The introduction of the ‘Pay It Forward’ element is particularly encouraging, as it enables students to experience the impact of giving back and turning their actions into positive social impact.”
Through Link Secondary Student Scholarship, Link University Scholarship and other youth empowerment initiatives, Link remains committed to empowering young people, promoting social mobility and nurturing future leaders who are equipped to make a positive impact on society.
