Link Asset Management Limited (Link), the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust (Link REIT), was delighted to award 220 students with the Link University Scholarship (Scholarship) this year. The students, who are the first in the three generations within their families to attend universities in Hong Kong, were selected among a highly competitive set of applicants based on their academic achievements as well as their community contributions. A scholarship presentation ceremony was held on 8 March 2025 (Saturday) to honour their outstanding achievements. 

Distinguished guests from 11 universities in Hong Kong attended the ceremony, together with the panel of judges comprising representatives from the public, business, education and social services sectors.    

Duncan Owen, Link’s Chair of the Board, said at the ceremony:

“My heartfelt congratulations to all our awardees. Seeing such a talented group of young people makes me feel very confident and excited about our future. Thank you to everyone here for supporting the growth and development of our future leaders.”

A panel of 68 judges select 220 exceptional students    

The 220 awardees come from diverse academic disciplines and ethnicities, and include seven all-time scholars from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, who have received the Scholarship for four consecutive years.

Link is especially grateful to the many community leaders concerned with youth development who have joined the scholarship panel throughout the years. During last November’s Scholarship Interview Day, 68 judges from various sectors interviewed more than 300 shortlisted candidates. Their invaluable insights and expertise helped identify the most deserving recipients of the Scholarship.  

Scholarship for secondary schools in honour of 20th anniversary

Over the last decade, Link has awarded scholarships to more than 1,800 exceptional students who have excelled academically and actively engaged in community service. The Scholarship has grown from an original 100 to 220 awards, now including students from Year 1 to Year 4, and has expanded from University Grant Committee-funded institutions to self-financing universities.   

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the listing of Link REIT and continue supporting the next generation, Link is establishing Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Students Scholarship for secondary school students, awarding 100 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $6,000.

Mr Owen added:

“We are proud of the establishment of the Link 20^th Anniversary Outstanding Students Scholarship for secondary school students. Our property assets are deeply embedded in so many communities, and we are happy to be supporting the next generation in this way.”
