With a view to promoting cycling and green living, The Link has established Hong Kong’s first biker’s pit-stop network by providing “Bike and Bike Tools Lending Services”. In addition, The Link is releasing the “Link the Bike” Guidebook 2013 to introduce cyclists to several relaxing cycling routes around Hong Kong, give a rundown on the latest bike equipment, offer tips on taking beautiful cycling photos so as to encourage the joy of cycling. Free redemption of “Link the Bike” Guidebook 2013 from 3 June in designated shopping malls of The Link The Link launched the inaugural “Link the Bike” Guidebook last year introducing some of Hong Kong’s most popular cycling routes. Due to overwhelming response, the second Guidebook will be launched with the theme of “LOHAS Cycling” this year. DJ Donald and cycling enthusiast Lee Ming Hay invited to recommend several cycling routes in Hong Kong. Routes in Tung Chung, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long will be introduced, which highlight great scenery, nature and historical spots. The Guidebook will also highlight some romantic cycling routes, share tips on how to take beautiful cycling photos and offer information on the latest bike equipment. Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said, “By leveraging the network of our shopping malls and their proximity to popular cycling routes, we have successfully created Hong Kong’s first biker’s pit-stop network. This year, in addition to the expansion of our ‘Bike and Bike Tools Lending Services’ to 25 shopping malls, we are launching the “Link the Bike” Guidebook 2013, which recommends relaxing cycling routes in order to promote cycling culture and green living to tie in with our commitment to enhancing sustainability in the community.” From 3 June, shoppers who spend HK$50 or more in 29 designated shopping malls of The Link (see attachment) can redeem a copy of the “Link the Bike” Guidebook 2013 for free. The Guidebooks are available while stocks last. Expansion of Bike Lending Services to 12 shopping malls from 1 June Currently, 25 shopping malls of The Link (see attachment) provide “Bike Tools Lending Services”, which offer the use of basic repair tools, bike locks, pumps and racks for free. The Link’s “Bike Lending Services” will be extended to include 12 shopping malls of The Link (see attachment) on 1 June. Upon spending HK$300 in designated shopping malls of The Link, customers can borrow a “The Link x STRiDA” foldable bike for 3 hours at no charge to enjoy a leisurely bike ride along nearby cycling paths and being their first step to the low-carbon living.
