With core value of operating business with respect and teamwork, The Link supported The Diamond Cab, which provides barrier-free taxi service in Hong Kong, to launch the first Diamond Sedan Competition. This first-ever innovative event aimed to give ultimate barrier-free experience to participants, enabling members of public to better understand the needs of wheelchair users and to promote the barrier-free culture. To maximize the enjoyment to the wheelchair users, Diamond Cab has designed a Diamond Sedan for wheelchair users to use for this competition. On 4 November 2012, the first competition was held successfully in Stanley Plaza. It has attracted over 50 athletes including people who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, wheelchair users and general athletes to enjoy the competition together. Ms Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link Management Limited, said, “The Link concerns social harmony and we are committed to ride on our extensive networks of shopping centres to collaborate with different organizations and provide community events for all walks of life. We are delighted to support this first-ever competition in Hong Kong. Through this meaningful campaign, we not only wish both general athletes and athletes with disabilities to enjoy fun together, but also enable people to understand the needs of wheelchair users. Our company will continue to enhance the facilities and services in our shopping centres in order to provide convenience to the needy.” Located on the doorstep of over 40% of Hong Kong’s household, The Link strives for enhancing the barrier-free facilities and services for people in need and also supports community events from different organizations in promoting social harmony together. |
