Starting today, a roving exhibition of the winning projects of the HKIA Annual Awards 2011 will be held at four of The Link’s shopping centres (Chung Fu Plaza, Hau Tak Shopping Centre, Stanley Plaza and Lung Cheung Plaza).

Starting today, a roving exhibition of the winning projects of the HKIA Annual Awards 2011 will be held at four of The Link’s shopping centres (Chung Fu Plaza, Hau Tak Shopping Centre, Stanley Plaza and Lung Cheung Plaza).

For the second year in a row, The Link has provided the venue at its shopping centres for the winning projects of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Annual Awards.  The exhibition gives the local community an opportunity to appreciate outstanding designs by local and international architects. In addition to helping the public gain a better understanding of architecture, this initiative strengthens The Link’s relationships with the community.

The Link - HKIA Annual Awards 2011 Roving Exhibition
Shopping Centre                    Exhibition Period
Chung Fu Plaza                      7-18 June 2012
Hau Tak Shopping Centre 6-13 July 2012
Stanley Plaza                          2-14 August 2012
Lung Cheung Plaza 4-10 September 2012

Having received huge support from the public for the exhibition last year, The Link decided to hold the exhibition again together with HKIA. Brian Chuang, General Manager – Project & Planning of The Link, said, “One of The Link’s Values is to enhance the lives of people around us.  When we undertake an asset enhancement initiative, we pay a lot of attention to the soul of each property. We aim at giving that property a unique design. Through better space utilisation and enhanced visual elements, we provide a unique style for each property as well as a high quality shopping environment for the public.

“Holding this exhibition is meaningful.” He added. “By having the opportunity to view outstanding architectural projects, the public can broaden its vision and know more about the close relationship between architectural design and the community. This is the same direction The Link takes in renovating its properties.”

Cullen Wong, Deputy Chairman of HKIA Annual Awards, said, “HKIA Annual Awards has witnessed the development of architecture in Hong Kong. Architecture has close relationship with our everyday lives. Quality living environment can be created by better space utilisation by architects. We organised the roving exhibition last year with the objective of encouraging the public to know and understand more about architecture. To continue promoting this philosophy of HKIA, we co-organised the roving exhibition with The Link again this year to allow people from all walks of life to understand architecture.” He also thanked The Link for offering venues for the exhibition.

The exhibition opens at Chung Fu Plaza in Tin Shui Wai today. Other venues include Hau Tak Shopping Centre (6-13 July), Stanley Plaza (2-14 August) and Lung Cheung Plaza (4-10 September). Eleven winning projects will be featured, including designs, plans and photos.
