Starting from 1 March, the special edition foldable bike, The Link X STRiDA is available at three pilot shopping centres for free, including Maritime Bay Shopping Centre as shown on the photo

After launching the CNY Carnival cum Bikes Parade, The Link has joined hands with renowned bicycle brand STRiDA to develop a strategic plan — Link the Bike — for promoting bike culture and green living in Hong Kong. One of the aims of the plan is to upgrade key shopping centres with facilities that appeal to cyclists.

The Link has a large portfolio and extensive network, including shopping centres located close to popular cycle tracks used by many cyclists every day. To attract this special category of customer, The Link together with STRiDA will select three shopping centres in Tin Shui Wai, Tseung Kwan O and Stanley. The centres include Stanley Plaza, Maritime Bay and Tin Shui Shopping Centre. Upon reaching a designated spending amount with receipt, customers will be entitled to borrow a special edition foldable bike, The Link X STRiDA, as well as tyre pumps, racks, bike lock and repair kit at no charge, allowing them to enjoy a more convenient shopping experience.

Miss Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said, “We launch Link the Bike project in the hopes of promoting green living and sports culture, while attracting more customers and cyclists through the introduction of different bike facilities. By doing this, we hope to create a healthy shopping environment and a more attractive and appealing community for both locals and tourists.”Mr Philip Heung, Asia-Pacific Development Director of STRiDA said, “STRiDA has designed many special crossover bikes with renowned brands to promote cycling. This time, we are partnering with The Link to encourage Hong Kong people to use bicycles as a form of transportation and reduce our carbon footprint. ”  We look forward to more opportunities for collaboration in the future.

The Link has also produced a booklet for cyclists, with easy-to-use route maps and detailed information on ideas to help cyclists plan their route. The booklet will be available at the designated shopping centres starting from early March.
