Christmas is a festival to celebrate, The Link REIT ("The Link"), together with St James jointly launched "Christmas x Volunteer @ Stanley" on 17 December. A total 18 volunteers from The Link together with 34 kids from low-income families in Tin Shui Wai enjoyed a wonderful day at Stanley.
The exciting trip started with a tour at Stanley Main Street, Stanley Plaza and Ma Hang Park Tree, with a colleague introducing various tree species. We also had games time with the kids. All children had a great time on that day.
Special thanks were given to McDonald's and Jim Marvin Designer Christmas who had sponsored free lunches and exquisite Christmas gifts to the children.
Mr Tony Lam, Director (Human Resources) of The Link Management Limited said: "The Link’s portfolio is adjacent to a large population of Hong Kong and has always been supportive to all forms of charities programmes including this one organised by St James’ Settlement. The event let the underprivileged children living in Tin Shui Wai have a great opportunity to see and feel about Hong Kong, and also get to know there are many people in Hong Kong cares on them as well.”
The Link has been working close with St James’ Settlement in a number of charity events such as People's Food Bank, recycling of red packets and donation of computers just to name a few.
Ms Erica Ip, Manager R.S.W. Teen S’ World of St James' Settlement said: "We are very pleased to co-organize activities with The Link once again and they have been consistently thoughtful on us. This volunteer activity brought fun and great time to the kids and everyone enjoyed this very much."
