The world is holding its breath for the quadrennial global football event that will begin in Brazil tomorrow. This mega football event will generate excitement around the globe, and The Link Management Limited (“The Link”) is preparing to bring the buzz to its shopping centres with the “The Link Football Fever” event, promoting the fun and healthy sport of football with a series of matches and performances.
Elite football teams participate in lively competitions
This year, The Link will bring “The Link Football Fever” to its shopping centres each weekend from 7 June until 13 July. The event will incorporate Kick Tempo Football, an emerging football variation that is increasingly popular in more than 30 regions across Asia, putting two players inside an inflatable field for a lively, engaging three-minute duel. The game strengthens the players’ own physical fitness and entertains spectators with exciting contests of physical skill. The event was officially kicked off last Saturday (7 June) at Lok Fu Plaza. Officiating guests included Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, KK Cheung, Football Ambassador, and Leo Liu, founder of Kick Tempo Football. A series of exciting competitions began right after the kick-off ceremony. Players will engage each other in a series of qualifying matches. The last twelve standing players will be invited to Tin Shui Shopping Centre on 13 July to compete in the Grand Final for the championship.
Experience the excitement of football with the whole family
On each event day, freestyle football performances will be staged with celebrities to liven the atmosphere, and football coaching sessions will be held for customers to learn from professionals. Competitive players, including those from elite football team such as Sun Pegasus Football Club and Kitchee Escola, together with players from charitable organisations were invited as seeded team to join the games and will play against members of the public to spread the joy of football. Customers can participate in the football coaching sessions with one child over the age of five by presenting a same-day machine-printed receipt of any purchase at the shopping centre hosting the event. Those who participated in a coaching session can sign up for “The Link Football Fever” tournament to test their football skills and fight for the championship.
