Link Asset Management Limited (“Link”) has completed an asset enhancement project at Yat Tung Shopping Centre, reinforcing its role as a community retail hub serving Tung Chung West. The project forms part of Link’s ongoing strategy to enhance asset quality and optimise tenant mix to better meet evolving customer needs.
Located in the heart of Lantau Island, Yat Tung Shopping Centre spans nearly 110,000 sq. ft. and serves over 38,000 residents. As a one‑stop destination, it offers a comprehensive mix of fresh market produce, dining options and daily necessities, anchored by the district’s largest fresh market — Hong Kong Market – Yat Tung — which serves as a key daily shopping and social hub for the community.
The project adopts a “Hike and Seek” theme inspired by Lantau Island’s natural landscape and nearby outdoor attractions, incorporating nature‑inspired design elements to enhance the shopping environment and reinforce the centre’s positioning as a gateway for leisure and exploration.
Against the backdrop of continued development in Tung Chung West, including new residential supply and the future Tung Chung West MTR station, the enhancements help enhance the mall’s attractiveness and footfall. The works also include initiatives to optimise tenant mix and shop presentation, helping to enhance customer experience, and support tenant performance and long‑term asset value.
To mark the completion of the asset enhancement project, Link will launch a series of community‑focused activities under the “Yat Tung Fly Out More・Unleash Imagination; Discover Infinite Possibilities Programme” from late May to early August.
The programme is inspired by the theme of paper planes, evoking a sense of childhood nostalgia. It features experiences including aircraft viewing at Scenic Hill, exploring Hong Kong Market and discovering the natural beauty of Lantau Island, using the imagery of flight to convey the spirit of exploration and orientation.
Programme Highlights
In collaboration with local schools and NGOs, five giant paper planes have been created and are displayed in the mall’s outdoor space to showcase the younger generation’s aspirations for Tung Chung’s future.
Customers who meet a designated spending requirement can join interactive mission games. By completing the challenges, they have the chance to win limited‑edition Lantau‑themed badges and gifts while exploring Tung Chung’s stories.
During the promotion period, multiple shopping rewards will be launched, including the popular “Fly Out Multi‑Purpose Trolley” and dining cash vouchers, as part of the promotion.
On 1 August, a special competition will be held combining creativity and science. Participants will craft their own paper planes that will fly across a giant map of Lantau landmarks, with prizes going to those that fly the farthest.
