The Link today celebrated the Year of the Rabbit with customers and tenants at Lok Fu Plaza, ushering in a prosperous year for health and business.
George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of The Link, said, “During the Lunar New Year, the turnover and footfall of The Link’s shopping centres increased by more than 20%. The business atmosphere is more exuberant than last year.
“Taking Lok Fu Plaza as an example, the two-year asset enhancement project is almost completed and the renewed Zone B was opened last month, leading to a sharp increase in footfall of over 20%,” Mr Hongchoy added. “After the AEI of Lok Fu Plaza, there is now a diversified tenant mix, including various restaurants (Kitchen J,Pizza Hut and Foolum Restaurant), an iphone/ipad store (New Vision), electrical stores, fashion and accessories shops (Giordano, Baleno, Bossini) and so on, which has greatly improved the variety of shopping and dining choices.”
Lok Fu Plaza, built more than 20 years ago, had an outdated design and layout. To provide a better shopping environment for customers, The Link has been carrying out a renovation project at Lok Fu Plaza to upgrade the facilities, improve the layout and optimise the tenant mix. After completion, the revamped mall will attract more customers from the district as well as from outside, bringing more business opportunities to the tenants of Lok Fu Plaza.
Zone B opened on 13 January, when 70% of the tenants reopened their businesses.
Mr Hongchoy added, “I am grateful to every tenant for their support and consideration of the AEI project. I hope every tenant can enjoy the good results of the project and we can cooperate to make Lok Fu Plaza the most attractive shopping destination in Kowloon.”
