Link, the manager of Link REIT, (Hong Kong stock code: 823) today (Friday) announced the opening of the All-age Information Hub and the Wellness Station at Shun Lee Commercial Centre in Kowloon.
As Link's first intergenerational facilities pilot, the project provides an accessible neighbourhood platform where residents, caregivers and families can access community information, participate in wellness activities and connect with support services as part of their daily lives.
Emmanuel Farcis, Link's Managing Director – Asset Management & Regional Centres, said: “As the needs of Hong Kong's communities continue to evolve, Link is exploring how our malls can create greater social value through proactive asset management and cross-sector partnerships.
This pilot reflects our commitment to serve as a community connector by bringing people, services and opportunities closer together, while creating spaces where meaningful connections can flourish across generations. It is an important step in our Age-Friendly Initiatives, which combine proactive asset management and cross-sector collaboration to create communities where residents thrive across generations. We are grateful to HKEX Foundation, HKCSS and all of the NGO partners for their collaboration, and we look forward to working with more partners to build stronger, more inclusive and age-friendly communities."
Link's Age-Friendly Initiatives span age-friendly tenant planning and collaboration, enhanced accessibility and mall facilities, support for community organisations, and strategic partnerships that bring services, resources and opportunities closer to residents.
Drawing on its expertise in proactive asset management, Link planned and built the facilities, with operational funding provided by the HKEX Foundation. The Hong Kong Council of Social Service facilitated cross-sector collaboration, while Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC) and Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) jointly operate community programmes and services on site.
All-age Information Hub: Serves as a platform providing access to community information and support services, helping residents connect with relevant resources while fostering community bonds.
The Wellness Station: A dedicated space for physical exercise, cognitive training and interactive experiences. It supports seniors, caregivers and the wider community in maintaining physical and mental health while promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening intergenerational engagement.
Link plans to expand similar facilities at Lok Wah Commercial Centre, which is expected to include enhanced support facilities and services and be completed early next year.
