H.A.N.D.S raised the energy and excitement levels in Tuen Mun today with the launch of “Let’s Exercise” @ H.A.N.D.S, a special event to coincide with the opening of The Link’s latest refurbishment project. H.A.N.D.S, which combines the former On Ting Commercial Complex and Yau Oi Shopping Centre, sits above the Light Rail station in Tuen Mun, New Territories and offers a fresh “Have A Nice Day Shopping” experience. Bringing together a wide variety of trend-setting shops and providing for shoppers’ every need, H.A.N.D.S is a refreshing, new one-stop shopping and leisure destination! Motivating the public to exercise by converting their calories burned into food for the needy From today until 25 January 2015, H.A.N.D.S and other selected The Link shopping centres will have different sports stations including stationery bikes, basketball hoops and other games. Visitors who participate in “Let’s Exercise” @ H.A.N.D.S can calculate their calories burned, which will be converted into an equivalent amount of food to be donated to Food Angel, a food rescue and food assistance programme, to feed the needy. The event aims to donate 1 million calories of food to Food Angel, and participants will receive a H.A.N.D.S Helping Hand Tote filled with exciting gifts. (For event details, please see Factsheet 2) At the launch of “Let’s Exercise” @ H.A.N.D.S, Andy Cheung, Chief Financial Officer of The Link Management Limited, introduced the distinctive character and brand values of the all-new H.A.N.D.S shopping centre: “H.A.N.D.S is The Link’s largest asset enhancement project since the company went public in 2005. Nearly HK$480 million was invested into combining Tuen Mun’s On Ting Commercial Complex and Yau Oi Shopping Centre to create a flagship shopping centre with more than 190,000 square feet containing 170 tenants that offer everything from daily necessities to the latest trends. The more people exercise, the more people will benefit, making exercise an even more meaningful activity,” Healthy explained.After the launch event, visitors were able to download the brand new H.A.N.D.S mobile app. In addition to putting the latest event news and tenant offers at the public’s fingertips, the app calculates the calories burned for 15 different sports and allows users to convert their calories burned into “Bonus Calories”. The three officiating guests were the first to try out the sports stations and contribute calories to the cause of feeding the needy. H.A.N.D.S has been totally reconfigured and enhanced, with improvements including better ventilation and the installation of energy-efficient systems for air-conditioning and LED lighting, which reduce the shopping centre’s carbon footprint. In order to offer an inclusive shopping experience for people with special needs, H.A.N.D.S has also been designed to be a barrier-free shopping centre equipped with tactile-Braille indicators and wheelchair-accessible customer service counters, restrooms, parking spaces, ramps and lifts. The shopping centre also has family-friendly facilities, open-air public spaces, a children’s playground, and a rooftop eco-garden, making H.A.N.D.S the ideal, hassle-free leisure destination for young families. The shopping centre is divided into five zones: H, A, N, D and S. Each zone can be easily indentified by its distinct bright colour. There are also free mobile charging stations for shoppers’ added convenience.
H.A.N.D.S is a one-stop shopping destination for new brands and speciality restaurants
In order to create a new lifestyle destination, H.A.N.D.S brings together 170 tenants with a special shopping zone for trendsetting fashion and accessories brands.
