Kai Tin Shopping Centre Presents ‘Summer Tea Party’

‘Summer Tea Party’ delights tea and art lovers with a rich variety of tea-infused treats, crafts and knick-knacks.

To support young artists, the mall invited Hong Kong School of Design students to create a collection of artworks themed on Kaka’s tea party.

The newly renovated Kai Tin Shopping Centre returns with a wider selection of dining, shopping and entertainment options, alongside the joyful ‘KTopia’, which was jointly created with renowned artist b.wing to put an artistic spin on this new chillax destination for young people. Kaka, the mall’s exclusive character created by b.wing, joins the much-loved A boy on the exciting ‘Key to Fun’ journey through six viral augmented reality (AR) installations. Kaka is always hosting a tea party for everyone during this journey, and this summer, Kaka’s famous tea party gets even bigger and better as part of the ‘Summer Tea Party’ campaign! Courtesy of leading local F&B solutions provider Tsit Wing Group, there will be a variety of experiences and a tea-art exhibition, as well as a tasteful lifestyle market aimed at discerning tea lovers and cultural mavens.

Kai Tin Shopping Centre’s ‘Summer Tea Party’ will be held from 21 August to 12 September, with the themed market running for four consecutive weekends starting on 21 August. Created in collaboration with Tsit Wing Group, this immersive tea journey offers mall-goers a selection of premium tea leaves and tasting sessions for a true taste of tea culture. Over at the themed market, tea culture and art converge in a kaleidoscopic selection of tea-infused treats, textiles, pressed flower arts and knick-knacks from more than 30 craftspeople and booths. Mall-goers can round off their shopping spree with DIY tea candle and tea painting workshops to create their own masterpieces!

A host of tea masters will share tips on tea brewing and tasting at the ‘Summer Tea Party’. Master Jack Lau, a senior milk tea consultant at Tsit Wing with 35 years of experience, will demonstrate how to make the quintessential Hong Kong beverage, while Shawn, the founder and tea artist from sensational Green Ginkgo Tea, will offer an innovative and interactive tea-tasting experience tailored to suit the weather and mood. Last but not least, National First-Level tea artist Family Leung will offer an introduction to tea etiquette and tea-infused cuisine.

The ‘Summer Tea Party’ campaign also features a ‘DIY Premium Tea Bag’ corner, where mall-goers can create their own DIY tea bag and select from Tsit Wing’s new launches, three tea flavours according to their personal taste, available exclusively during the campaign. Shoppers can visit Kai Tin Shopping Centre’s ‘Key to Fun’ website and collect ‘game keys’ at the mall for redemption.

To further promote art and cultivate young artists, Hong Kong School of Design students were tapped to explore tea culture and art more deeply through various art forms themed on Kaka’s tea party. Their work is being displayed at an exhibition during the campaign period. What’s more, limited-edition tea bags designed and signed by Ying Chi-yuet (MrLittleCat) and Andy Leung are available for redemption – stay tuned to their social media channels for updates. Finally, rising TV star Florica Lin will make an appearance at the market as store manager on 28 August to share her favourite brews.
