The Link Management Limited (“The Link”) has once again teamed up with the Green Council, Hong Kong, to support ‘Hong Kong Green Day’ – an initiative launched by the Green Council last year to promote greener living in Hong Kong in recognition of World Environment Day. In its second year, Hong Kong Green Day hosted a series of events across the month of June to spread awareness about environmental protection. This year, The Link cooperates with the Green Council again by leveraging its extensive network of shopping centres to help motivate the public to live a greener life in support of this occasion. The closing ceremony for this year’s ‘Hong Kong Green Day’ took place at Stanley Plaza on Saturday, 28 June. The event was attended by over 100 participants and celebrities, including popular child star Celine Yeung and famous dog star ‘Dior’. Participants shared their green style of living. Environmental workshops and display boards were available to allow participants to better understand the close connection between environmental protection and daily life. Staff and tenants support in cameras recycling to help underprivileged families In addition to venue provision, The Link took its support a step further this year by participating in the ‘Hong Kong Green Day’ campaigns as an official ‘Green Partner’. These events included the ‘Green Shop Campaign’ and ‘Snap for Green – Camera Recycle Campaign’. Posters were displayed at all of The Link’s shopping centres to introduce the ‘Green Shop Campaign’ to all its tenants. They were also invited to wear green clothing, or to provide green discount offers to customers, in order to boost awareness about environmental protection among the public. ‘Snap for Green - Camera Recycle Campaign’ is jointly organised by the Green Council and Bless Hong Kong Campaign. As part of this event, staff from The Link was encouraged to donate their second-hand cameras to underprivileged families through Bless Hong Kong Campaign. An Eco Walk was also held on the day of the closing ceremony, with the beneficiaries invited to bring along their cameras to the walk. Tour guides were at hand to both introduce different wildlife species and teach photography techniques to participants, raising public awareness about environmental protection and ecological conservation. As an environmentally responsible organisation that has always supported sustainable development, The Link will continue to promote green living through its extensive network of shopping centres. |
