Stanley Plaza has won a Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Dog Obedience Class held during the highlight of the Paws by the Sea pet carnival on 4 December 2011. A total of 354 dogs learned and completed two new commands during the class, which was the first major dog event in Hong Kong.
Guinness World Records has already sent The Link a certificate acknowledging the event at Stanley Plaza, which has recently been transformed into a popular lifestyle retail destination and dog-friendly shopping centre.
Miss Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, said: "We find it very meaningful to cooperate with SPCA Hong Kong to achieve this Guinness World Record at Stanley Plaza. By organising memorable activities such as this, Stanley Plaza, The Link’s first dog-friendly shopping centre, welcomes visitors to a new and fabulous dining and retail experience. With the growing number of dog lovers in Hong Kong, we will continue cooperating with pet-related organisations to feature more activities for dog lovers and our four-legged friends.”
Participants in the World's Largest Dog Obedience Class taught their dogs to complete two new commands – Finishing Right and Marching — under the guidance of a professional dog trainer.
Proceeds from Paws by the Sea will be donated to the SPCA in celebration of their 90th anniversary.
