‘Fairy Tales Storytelling Competition’ and ‘Twist-a-Tale Contest’ Award Ceremony

For every submission to the ‘Twist-a-Tale Contest, The Link made a donation to Heifer International Hong Kong to purchase livestock to help impoverished families become more self-reliant. Participating children also had the opportunity to expand their learning. BC Lo, Director of Corporate Communications & External Relations, The Link Management Limited, presents the donation cheque to Heifer International Hong Kong at the ceremony.

Participants in the finals of The Link’s ‘Fairy Tales Storytelling Competition’ performed to an excellent standard. Their acting and presentation skills were a spectacular showcase of the children’s personal and creative talents.

Quenby, Teenager and Children’s Literature Book Author, and her son share their insights on creativity and writing skills with the students.Quenby stated that the children’s performance showed distinctive personal styles and a deep understanding of the fairy tales. Parents should encourage children to participate in speech competitions, which help enhance their presentation skills for future development.Moreover, encouraging children to re-write the fairy tale endings awakens their creative thinking and stimulates them to find inspiration in their everyday lives. These are great catalysts for a child’s overall growth.

The Link Management Limited (‘The Link’) launched Hong Kong’s first ‘Red Carpet Fairy Tales’ campaign at Lok Fu Plaza this summer. The campaign selected 10 classic fairy tales to turn into 3D art tableaus, encouraging children to explore a 3D fairy tale world during the summer holidays and promoting parent–child reading.

In line with this concept, the campaign also featured a ‘Fairy Tales Storytelling Competition’ and a ‘Twist-a-Tale Contest’, both of which were enthusiastically received by schools and students. The winners of the two competitions were announced at the award ceremony today (2 August), where they were invited on stage to share their experiences.
