Hong Kong Ambassadors (“HKAoD”) have been strived to promote local design, creative and cultural development. Other than introducing new local artists and students to the world for culture exchange, HKAoD also invites international artists to exhibit their art pieces in DETOUR, HKAoD’s annual event, as a kind of arts exchange and also an introduction of local creative arts. DETOUR, the annual flagship program of HKAoD has been held for six years. Its Media tour and Vernissage for DETOUR 2012 was held yesterday (29 November) at the Former Wan Chai Police Married Quarters. Striving to support sustainable development, The Link has been invited to be the Diamond Partner of HKAoD and gives full support to DETOUR 2012. Leveraging on The Link’s property network, the public will have more opportunities to participate in different art appreciation activities. 
 
Bringing Arts into the Community through The Link’s Extensive Network  
 
As the Diamond partner of DETOUR, The Link promotes DETOUR to the community through the network of its shopping malls. Together with the renowned contemporary street artist Michael Lau, the first project, Project Moon with 3 art installations named “Moon Welcome”, “Moon Watch” and “Moon Seek” was introduced during mid-Autumn Festival, as a blend of trendy, creative as well as traditional elements. These 3 artworks were exhibited to the public in The Link’s shopping centres, namely Leung King Plaza in Tuen Mun, Lok Fu Plaza in Kowloon and Tin Shui Centre in Tin Shui Wai. The Link and HKAoD have held a series of free creative art workshops earlier for the community with various art organizations also. These workshops aimed helping the public to understand the importance of design and unveil their creativity, and also cultivate the upcoming masters of design. The response from the public was overwhelmingly positive as these workshops encouraged public’s participation. The artwork of “Moon Seek” will be exhibited in the 17-day exhibition of DETOUR 2012.
