The Link Management Limited (“The Link”) has partnered with the Contemporary A Cappella Society of Hong Kong and Macau for the third consecutive year to present the Asia A Cappella Festival 2013. This three-day annual music event, which will be held at both Lok Fu Plaza and Stanley Plaza from 15 to 17 November, will include groups from across Asia, who will entertain audiences with the beauty of a cappella music.
In addition to the two mainstays of the music festival, the Asia A Cappella Music Show and the Inter-college A Cappella Competition, the festival will feature intermittent performances by Hong Kong’s first a cappella flash mob. At these performances, audiences will experience first-hand the novelty of a cappella culture and the theme of this year's event, "A Cappella Without Boundaries: Music Unity". For even more excitement, a “battle” component has also been added to the event for the first time, which will see a cappella and dance coming together as audience members are invited to have a dance-off to a cappella music. Asia A Cappella Music Show Many excellent a cappella groups from various Asian countries, including Korea, Singapore, China, Macau and Hong Kong, will perform at the festival, in addition to the Urban Harmony Singers, comprising talented singers from across Asia, W.I.T.H.from Korea and A Cappuccino from Singapore, who were specially invited also. These groups will sing unique a cappella arrangements of an array of songs, wowing audiences with their vocal range and ability. Hong Kong’s First A Cappella Flash Mob An a cappella flash mob will make its debut at this year’s festival, ready to amaze audiences at Lok Fu Plaza and Stanley Plaza with impromptu performances. In addition, the flash mob will invite audience members to sing together and help spread the a cappella spirit to everyone in attendance. Inter-college A Cappella Competition 2013 The Link supports and promotes music, so on the first day of the festival, nine distinguished a cappella groups from various colleges and universities in Hong Kong and China will compete in this "Star Dream" event to see who will be the new college star of a cappella.
