With the food truck culture across New York, South Korea and other cities that is arriving in Hong Kong, Link’s Cheers Express shares this culture with the community and celebrates food with friends and families.
At the kick-off ceremony today (6 September), George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of Link, together with artists Woo Fung and Joe Junior disguised as deliverymen delighted the crowds. As part of the Cheers Express campaign, Link has invited renowned celebrity chefs to design scrumptious dishes based on the four themes of relationships, namely, neighbours, grandparents and grandchildren, friends and couples. These themes celebrate community life and encourage stronger personal bonds. Enjoy food while raising funds
Every day marks a festival in different parts of the world. Riding on the four special days earmarked during August and September for the celebration of neighbours, grandparents and grandchildren, friends and couples, Link encourages communications among friends, families and relatives through the food sharing spirit of Cheers Express. George Hongchoy said, “Cheers Express reflects our mission of ‘partnering with local communities’. We work hard to create value for them and to build strong relationships with them. This event also raises funds for HOPE worldwide (Hong Kong) to provide continuous and high impact education and health services to people in need. People who make a charity donation of HK$20 or more will receive a free serving of food by our guest celebrity chefs.” Clapping show and Cheers Express spread the joy and fun
At today’s event, Eli Bishop, the Guinness World Record holder for the most claps in one minute, on his first visit to Hong Kong from America, performed a creative clapping show with children. Eli believes that the simple action of clapping encourages connections between people, as well as promotes a positive attitude towards life. To add to the celebrations, two colourful Cheers Express vans will be traveling to different parts of Hong Kong during the campaign to deliver sweets and positive energy to participating communities. |
