Following the success of last year’s Asia A Cappella Festival at Lok Fu Plaza, The Link Management Limited (“The Link”) is once again presenting this much-anticipated musical event in cooperation with the Contemporary A Cappella Society of Hong Kong. For 3 days starting 9 November 2012, the festival will host groups from Mainland China, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong in a series of A-class performances at Lok Fu Plaza and Stanley Plaza for free entry. A musical exchange of East and West This year’s Asia A Cappella Festival features delightful performances by the Metro Vocal Group from the US, from 10 to 11 November. With over 13 years of international performing experience, Metro Vocal Group is famous for its unique high-energy arrangements of the world’s most popular tunes. They are especially well known among Hong Kong music lovers for their rendition of Beyond’s popular song “Under A Vast Sky”, which gained nearly a million hits on YouTube. Also performing at the Festival are celebrated Asian groups such as Hey Boy, champion of China’s 2nd National A Cappella Competition, and Singaporean girl group NANU, which has participated in various international a cappella contests and events. Representatives from Hong Kong include Lasagna, Just A Cappella and Octave. Introducing Hong Kong’s first collegiate a cappella competition In support of the musical arts and culture in Hong Kong, The Link will stage the Collegiate A Cappella Competition 2012 on 9 November, the first event of its kind in the city.
