Link REIT owns the largest portfolio of car parks in Hong Kong. We own and manage approximately 72,000 car park spaces*, which are located near most of our retail facilities and many of Hong Kong’s public housing estates, serving the local residents, shoppers and tenants of our retail facilities. We are gradually expanding our business in Mainland China, where we have acquired a shopping centre with car park in Beijing's Haidian District, and an office property with car park in Shanghai's Huaihai Road CBD.
We have introduced vehicle incentive schemes to satisfy the needs of car owners from different districts. In addition, we believe a safe parking environment is important to car owners and we have been exploring different ways to enhance the car park facilities, including implementation of the Tailgating Detection System, increased closed-circuit television coverage, improved barrier-free access facilities, and the installation of more energy efficient lighting systems.
